The County Clerk serves as the official secretary for the Board of the County Commissioners, and records Commissioner Meeting Minutes.
The County Clerk has various duties which include:
Property tax levies & tax roll preparation.
School, Cities, Township and other taxing authorities must file budgets with the County Clerk.
All County Property values are filed with the County Clerk.
The County Clerk sets the official mill levies for each taxing district.
The County Clerk's office pays bills once a month after County Commissioners have reviewed & approved them.
Also includes daily sales of fish and game licenses and tags. In election years this office is responsible for preparing and distributing ballots.
